Best moment in hockey - Scoring the winning P flick against LSE on the Olympic Pitch in Stratford in my final game at university.
What do you enjoy about your role - Motivating the team and striving for greatness!
JOHN YOUINGS
Position in the Club – Club President
How long have you been at SHC (or its precursors) and what teams did/do you play for – 37 years, I have played for the Swifts (the Development Team in the past), the 3s and the Strollers.
What position do you play– I have generally played on the right side moving from attack to defence over the years.
What roles do/did you hold at SHC - I am currently Cub President. I was a committee member for several years in the late 90s. With Peters Wrighton and Curtis, I Ied the efforts to build the new Clubhouse, achieving completion in November 2011
When and where did you start playing hockey - I played a little in the sixth form at school, but took it up again in the late 70s when I was living in Athens, where a large group of German, Dutch and British expats had formed the Athenian Hockey Club.

Best moment in hockey - Being selected for the Wales over 70s squad and winning a bronze medal at the 2016 World Cup in Australia
What do you enjoy about your hockey - The camaraderie within the team and a beer after the game!!
