Saltash RFC Youth section has recieved delivery of a newly made scrum machine which was kindly donated by Steve Hoodle of SRH Building and Maintenance LTD. (07971 541960)
Steve who is the owner of SRH Building and Maintenance LTD was approached by one of our coaches to firstly appraise the old sledge with a view to repairing at a resonable cost. Once Steve saw the state of the rotten machine, he dicided he could make a new one and he could supply the time and all the materials at his own expense. Steve managed to obtain the bolts and screws from one of his suppliers who had in the past had a son that attended the club, and kindly donated them free of charge. The only cost incured was for the new vinyl and foam for the shoulder pads.
The new machine will enable all the youth teams to resume scrummage training after many months of not having access to a working scrum machine.
On behalf of Saltash RFC Youth committee and all the coaches and players, I would like to thank Steve for his very kind donation.
We will endeavour to look after it, and make sure the teams get many years service from this gift.
