Playing the majority of his career at Glossop North End (9 years), the long-serving centre-back first arrived at Surrey Street in 2007 and scored 15 goals in 420 outings for the Hillmen.

Lugsden was voted both Players’ and Management Player of the Year in 2014-15, after helping Glossop secure a league and cup double as well as reach their second FA Vase Final at Wembley.

He joined Shaw Lane prior to the start of the 2016/17 season along with his twin brother, Kieran.

In February 2018 Kelvin became the first player to sign a contract for the 2018/19 season for Shaw Lane.
