Following the recognition of the FA RESPECT Gold Award in 2014 Longfleet Youth FC wished to create a valuable legacy in honor of the occasion. The club sought the guidance from its players in their players committee meeting, the players committee including representatives from U6 through to U16 were tasked with providing details of issues that effect them on match days. They voted to go forward with the concern of sideline instruction from parents and spectators, they felt the number of instructions they receive from everyone other than their coaches became confusing and so wished to address the issue. They were then tasked to come up with a concept as to how this could be represented in a video. This was entirely their idea including the use of our club mascot Leo the Lion. With the help of Dorset FA and Bournemouth Universities Media Department the storyboard was created and the subsequent video was filmed. Longfleet youth FC's managers, coaches and development committee members also took part throughout the day both in front and behind the camera to make the video a success. We hope this video can be used to help educate spectators and parents into the players perspective on match days. A huge thank you goes to the Longfleet Youth Players Committee, Andy Munnings from Dorset FA and Shaun Osbourne from Bournemouth University.
