Sheffield RUFC are unfortunately announcing that Adam Byron is leaving his role as Head Coach, a position he has held for 7 and a half years, to join Rotherham Titans as their new Head Coach.
Whilst this is a sad day for the club, we would like to place on record our great thanks to Adam for his 12 years of fantastic service and the superb memories he has given us all. Leaving the club currently sitting 1st in the table, everyone at Sheffield RUFC wishes Adam the best of luck at Rotherham Titans where we are certain he will be a huge success for the National League 2 North team.
As mentioned, Adam has been part of Sheffield for 12 years, working as Head Coach for the 1st XV for 7 and a half years where he won 106 of the 169 games he managed. In that time we have seen some unforgettable rugby; one miracle escape, two promotions, one relegation and a Yorkshire Cup Final.
The club will be taking some time to decide on the next step. Having already held discussions with the senior 1st XV players, the entire squad are on board with pushing on and finishing this season.
Thank you again, Adam and we hope to see you at Abbeydale soon.
