Sheffield RUFC are happy to announce we have secured Ben Wade's services as our new Director of Rugby for the upcoming season 2013/14.
After playing for Morley Ben played for Rotherham Titans, joining in 1997, and playing through until 2012, gaining over 115 first team caps. He played in the premiership in their 2001-2 season, and had game time against some impressive opponents such as Leicester Tigers, Wasps, Harlequins, Sale, Bath to name a few. He also did time for them as Titans forawrds coach, and most recently has been head coach at Sheffield Tigers.
He is an RFU level 3 coach joining our existing coaching team of Head coach Nick Crapper, and assisted by Adam Byron, Danny Porter and Jason Soden. Ben is also the Academy Director of Rugby at Rotherham Thomas college, and has emphasised the promotion of young talent within the club to complement the existing squad working towards senior rugby success for the upcoming season.
Since day one of his agreement with Chairman Andy Langdale, he has already been working with the squad management on the sumer recrutments and already we have success on that front. More about that to follow.
