A great start in our first match with hopefully a bright season ahead of us. Here's a match report from our very own first team captain Richard Banes.

First game back of the season, so we wanted to start the season on a strong win. The match
began with a strong start from the team leading with a try from Harry Mote in the first 15
minutes of the game. From there, the team managed to build strong momentum
implementing the structure built from last season and the few sessions we had this year. The
try count clocked up with more tries from Mote and George Dixon, but the team’s defence
started to buckle more during the match. This ended with a few tries breaking through for
Sheffield Oakes and a few injuries on our team’s side. Strong performances from many
people on the team, including Finn Harrison and Will Bannister, meant that the result
remained in our favour. Final score 38-20 to SERFC.
