From Thursday 24th September 2020, all football clubs are required to display the official NHS Track & Trace QR code at their grounds.

This measure, along with other Covid-19 guidelines, have been put in place to ensure that grassroots sports can continue and will help to avoid the reintroduction of lockdown measures and support the country to return to, and maintain, a more normal way of life.

To help you understand what to do, we have produced the below FAQs. Please make sure you read this.

What is NHS Test & Trace?
There are two parts to NHS Test & Trace:

Test: anyone who develops symptoms of coronavirus can quickly be tested to find out if they have the virus
Trace: close recent contacts of anyone who tests positive for coronavirus can be traced and, if necessary, notified that they need to self-isolate

Anyone who tests positive for coronavirus will be contacted by NHS Test & Trace and will need to share information about their recent interactions, including household members.

People identified as having been in close contact with someone who has a positive test must self-isolate for 10 days, even if they do not have symptoms, to stop unknowingly spreading the virus.

As part of the tracing, venues must keep records of customers, visitors and staff and provide this data to NHS Test & Trace if requested.

How do I download the NHS Covid-19 App?
The app is available for smartphones only - not tablets, smartwatches or other devices. You can get it from Apple's App Store and Android's Google Play Store.

Please note that your handset phone must be running Android 6.0 (released in 2015) or iOS 13.5 (released in May 2020) and Bluetooth 4.0 or higher.

You must be 16 or over to use the app.

How do I check-in using the NHS QR code?
You can use the app to check-in at venues - for instance, shops, bars, restaurants or places of worship.

After installing and setting up the app, open it and click the "Venue check-in" option on the home screen.

If this is your first time checking-in, then you'll need to allow the app to access your phone's camera. Hold your phone so that the QR code appears in the box. Once your phone recognises the QR code, it will show you that you have successfully checked in.

If there is an outbreak associated with a venue, a message will be sent to the relevant app users with the necessary public health advice.

What if I don't have the NHS Covid-19 App?
If you do not have the app, then you will need to complete the Shenley FC Online Track & Trace Form. This form confirms that you are not displaying any Covid-19 symptoms and asks for details for NHS Test & Trace.

Alternatively, a Shenley FC QR code will be displayed which you can scan to access the form.

What if I do not have online access?
Please speak to a coach so we can manually record your details.

Where are the QR codes displayed?
The NHS and the Shenley FC QR codes are displayed to the left of the gate in the Shenley Brook End School car park. This gate is located on the far left of the school car park and provides an entry to the school grounds.

To avoid crowding, the NHS QR code has also been displayed on the astroturf's fence.

When do you need to check-in/complete the form?
All players and coaches must either check-in using the NHS Covid-19 app or complete Shenley FC's Track & Trace Form before every training session and home match.

Spectators for both teams must also check-in or complete the online form before every home match. If you are in a group, only one of you are required to register, for example, parents/guardians can do this on behalf of their children. However, it is recommended that everyone registers where possible.

For away matches, you can check-in using the opposition's NHS QR code. The club must provide an alternative for those that do not have the app, and this will be communicated to everyone prior to kick-off.

What shall I do if I'm the opposition?
Opposition managers will need to complete this online track & trace form. This ensures that you have read the FA's COVID-19 guidance and that you will act as the 'lead member' for all people attending on behalf of your team. Our team manager is "Ian Orr".

Opposition players and coaches must either check-in using the NHS Covid-19 app or complete Shenley FC's Track & Trace Form before the match.

What about privacy?
The NHS app has been designed to track the spread of the virus, not people. It app uses random IDs that cannot be used by the NHS or the government to identify who you are, or who you’ve spent time with.

The app cannot:

use your GPS location or track where you have been
be used to check or monitor if you’re self-isolating
be used by law enforcement to identify or track you
see personal information on your phone, such as your messages, address book or your phone contacts

If you complete Shenley FC's Track & Trace online form, your details will be stored securely and will only be shared with NHS Test & Trace if it is specifically requested by them. Your data will not be used for any other purpose.

Complying with General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), we will hold records for 21 days to allow time for testing and tracing, after which this information will be securely deleted.
