Shenley are back in action when they host Heelands Rangers on Sunday.
Shenley and Heelands will look to continue their winning starts to the season.
Track and Trace
From Thursday 24th September 2020, all football clubs are required to display the official NHS Track & Trace QR code at their grounds.
This measure, along with other Covid-19 guidelines, have been put in place to ensure that grassroots sports can continue and will help to avoid the reintroduction of lockdown measures and support the country to return to, and maintain, a more normal way of life.
To help you understand what to do, we have created an FAQs here. Please ensure that you are aware of what you need to do.
The club will continue to follow all other government guidance to minimise the transmission of Covid-19. You can view the FA's Covid-19 guidance here.
The Opposition
Heelands Rangers Football Club was founded in 2020 and provides football coaching and matches for children from the age of 4 all the way to adults. The U18s manager is Simon Grundon.
Last Time Out
Heelands beat Great Linford 5-2 three weeks ago. Mason Davis hit a hat-trick while Giovanni James and Andrea Sanseviero also got on the scoresheet for Heelands. Mason Davis then turned from hero to zero when he was shown a red card for two bookable offences.
Shenley also defeated Great Linford 2-1 in the first round of the cup two weeks ago. Joel Smith scored after just forty-eight seconds before Finley Bodimeade doubled Shenley's lead in the second half. Great Linford scored a penalty ten minutes from time, but the Phantoms held out to reach the second round.
Team News
Ian Orr makes four changes to the side that beat Great Linford in the cup two weeks ago. With Mohammed Edris ruled out with illness, he switches to the familiar 4-2-3-1 formation
Due to the absence of Rohan Sawjani, Ollie Tanner partners Mitchell Brook at the heart of the defence. Kian Robinson and Adam Gillespie keep their places at full-back.
Tyler Johnston, Jack Medley and Morgan Pugh retain their places in midfield, with Jack Medley captaining the side for the first time this season.
Connor Dempsey and Ben Lynch replace the goalscorers against Great Linford, Joel Smith and Finley Bodimeade, in the starting line-up.
Tom Beevor replaces Freddie Rogers up front, since he is unavailable this week.
Kyle Armstrong, who missed the last month with a fractured wrist, makes the bench.
Heelands Rangers have 21 players signed on this season. Striker Mason Davis is suspended after being sent off in the last match.
Fighting Talk
Defender Mitchell Brook: "I feel like we’ve had a great start to the season by getting two big wins in the league and cup. The boys will be looking to take this momentum into the game against Pitstone. Even though they lost their first game of the season, we need to treat them as we would any other team and not rely on past results. Hopefully we’ll come away with another big 3 points!"
Midfielder Kyle Armstrong: "I’m very excited to get back onto the pitch again. Hopefully we can get the win!"
Officials
Samuel Okai will take charge of the Phantoms this Sunday. This will be his fifth match that he has refereed this season. He has never refereed Shenley before.
Head to Head
These two teams played each other three times in the 2017/18 season at U15s level. After the Phantoms lost 6-3 in a friendly in October, they defeated Heelands 7-2 at home on 3rd May 2018. Just four days later, Shenley beat Heelands 3-0 away from home. On that day, Tom Beevor fractured his collar bone and was subsequently sidelined for six weeks.
Weather Forecast
Sunny intervals and a gentle breeze are expected throughout the game. Temperatures are expected to be around 12°C. There is a very low (4%) chance of rain and the visibility will be good throughout the match. [Source: BBC Weather]
