Shepshed Dynamo and Coalville Town will meet again on Tuesday evening for the right for a place in the Emirates FA Cup Second Qualifying round after a 1-1 draw at The Dovecote Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
Shepshed were massive underdogs going into the tie as Coalville are currently second in the Southern League Central Premier Division (one league above) and got off to the worst possible start. Jake Betts bringing down Ashley Chambers in the penalty box. Chambers got up to take the penalty himself but skied it over Brandon Ganley's crossbar.
After being put under early pressure Shepshed grew into the game with Jadahn Fridye-Harper finding Matt Melbourne on eleven minutes but he was unable to keep his effort down.
Coalville asserted the pressure again with Jordan Smith blocking Tim Berridge's effort on fifteen minutes.
The game became an edgy affair and the next real chance didn't come until the thirty first minute after good work down the left hand side Betts did well to clear from Luke Shaw and three minutes later Eliot Putmam headed wide.
Dynamo had the final chance of the half but Messiah Mcdonald fired over the bar.
Mcdonald was to have the first chance of the second half but again he was unable to keep his effort on target.
Coalville started to get on top with Ganley saving from Berridge on fifty two minutes and two minutes later Andi Thanoj's free kick went over.
Coalville took the lead on fifty five minutes Chambers was slotted through by Berridge to shoot passed Ganley.
The visitors went in search of killing the tie off with Harper blocking Berridge's effort on fifty nine minutes and four minutes later Ganley was forced into a save.
Sam Moore on his return to The Dovecote Stadium then put Jorrin John through to go close for Shepshed on sixty eight minutes.
Shepshed levelled on seventy minutes James Snedden's free kick was headed across the goal by Zayn Hakeem, with Moore beating Paul White at the right hand post.
Shepshed were forced to hold on with Ganley saving twice from Tendai Chitiza on seventy five and seventy eight minutes and Dynamo did well to block Joe Doyle - Charles's chance on eighty one minutes.
As the game went into injury time Smith headed clear as Dynamo held on for the draw.
A superb result for Shepshed Dynamo and they have another chance to progress to the Second Qualifying round with the replay at Coalville Town Tuesday evening kick off 745pm.
