SHCC Triumphs in Finals, Lifts PCL Tournament Trophy

Sunny Thakur and Rahul Thakur stars the show!

In a thrilling display of skill and determination, First team of Shimla Hills Cricket Club clinched the championship of PCL cricket finals held at JR Stadium, Panchkula on 28.07.2024. The victory marked an extraordinary achievement for the club.

The final match in the lush green JR fields saw SHCC facing off against Fusion Force. From the moment the coin was tossed, it was clear that both teams were eager to secure the prestigious trophy, but it was SHCC that ultimately emerged victorious.

Fusion Force start of well and with loss of only 1 wicket easily cruising at 89/1 before fall of Nikhil Sharma who scored 44 runs. After that Fusion Force struggled to maintain their footing against the disciplined bowling attack led by Manu Thakur, Sunny Thakur and Rahul Thakur. SHCC Captain’s precision and tactical approach dismantled the opposition's batting lineup, restricting them to 159/4 runs. The highlight of the bowling performance was Sunny Thakur’s remarkable spell, which included 1/22.

Batting Second, SHCC start chase, thanks to standout performances from Rahul Thakur and Sunny Thakur, who scored 60 and 93 runs respectively. Their innings were marked by aggressive strokes and strategic shot placement, putting considerable pressure on the opposition.

As the last, SHCC won the match by 9 wickets in 17.2 overs. Naresh Kumar, praised the team’s effort in a post-match interview. "This victory is a testament to the hard work and dedication of every player. It’s been a long journey, and lifting this trophy is the perfect reward for our efforts."

The win is a significant milestone for SHCC, reflecting the club’s growth and the high level of cricket being played. The trophy presentation was a proud moment for the team, with Tournament organiser presenting the trophy to the victorious captain amidst cheers from Team.

For now, the trophy will take pride of place in the club’s trophy cabinet, serving as a lasting reminder of this remarkable achievement. Congratulations to SHCC team for their fantastic performance and for bringing the trophy home!
