With the 2024/25 season nearly upon us, we thought it would be a good time to provide an update on squads, training, fixtures and kit.
Mid-week Training:
After the bank holiday break, we’ll return to mid-week training at Sea Mills on Wednesday 28th August. Sessions will run from 18:15-19:30 (light allowing) but we could really do with additional help to put up goals etc from about 18:00. All three squads (Leopard, Jaguars and Panthers) will train together whilst we’re at Sea Mills. When we head back to the 3G at Cribbs, in the week commencing 23rd September, we will split the squads across two nights so we have enough space to train:
Wednesday nights (18:15-19:15): Jaguars and Panthers
Thursday nights (18:15-19:15): Leopards
Matches:
The Panthers will begin their exciting move into the larger Sunday league (the Hanham Minor League) in Division 6. We’ve already been playing quite a few friendlies with Sunday league teams to ensure we hit the ground running and are feeling really positive about the season ahead. The first HML fixture for the Panthers will be on Sunday 8th September. Most home games will be played at Sea Mills but again, keep an eye on the location in Pitchero in case we have to move the fixture. Again, when there is no fixture, the Panthers will train on the Sunday morning at Sea Mills.
Both the Leopards and Jaguars will resume Saturday morning football in the Bristol Saturday Youth League, with the Leopards fighting it out in League D, and the Jaguars in League A.
New kit!
Very excitingly, the coaches have been working hard this summer to sort new kit for all the squads. Thanks to Ollie Giles’s Dad for sponsoring new kit for the Jaguars and Panthers. As per the attached photo, this has arrived already and is ready to go for the start of the season. Please note that we can only hand out a new top to your Colt in exchange for an old one, so please make sure you bring your current shirts with you to the first game of the season.
For the Leopards, we have been successful in an Arnold Clark “Gear Up For Sport” competition, and have won a whole new set of kit! The Leopards will have this Arnold Clark sponsored kit very soon - it hasn’t arrived yet but we are hoping it will be here within the next month.
Many Thanks,
Coaches Andy and Alex
