This weekend Shire Colts U13’s play again on home turf after spending last week competing for North Somerset RTC at the East Mallorca Cup.

Featuring some of the best outfits in European football, no fewer than 10 of the Shire Colts U13’s took part in the tournament based in Cala Millor on the Spanish island. Also in their age group were the likes of Barcelona, Arsenal, Espanyol, Villarreal, Inter Milan, New York City and Athletico Madrid. The competition was tough, but the boys did themselves proud coming away with three wins and a draw over the five day tournament, pitting themselves against future stars from around the world.

The event gave a real insight into what can be achieved if you put your mind, body and soul into it, and was an excellent learning opportunity in terms of the game but also self-development as young men.
