Shire Colts U15 BSYL side faced a strong Banwell side who are new to the league.
Our 2nd cup game of the season and this one was to prove a tougher test than last week.
We started well and had decent chances, taking the lead through Dexter's cross/shot, we'll say he meant it!
The game was close for much of the first half, without having many real chances for either side. When both keeps were called into action they were great.
1-0 up at half-time and we looked good value for the lead, Banwell came out fighting in the 2nd half and it didn't take long for them to level the score. Banwell then scored another very quickly to take the lead for the first time. As soon as they did Shire got a right back at it and scored to level, this was followed by another quick goal to give Shire the advantage.
The game slowed a bit after those quick fire goals, and it looked like Shire would go onto win, with both teamsa having more 2nd half chances to score. Unfortunately for Shire, Banwell did score a 3rd in the final minute, to make the final score 3-3. A drew was perhaps a fair result on reflection.
All round the performances were very strong and the game took a lot of energy from the boys. It was also great to receive feedback from the referee on the positive attitude of the Shire Colts players, well done lads.
