Marcus took the opportunity on Monday Evening to get more minutes in his players legs when they travelled to Tuffley to take on a Development Squad side in front of a healthy crowd on a hot evening. Tuffley certainly gave the Wood side a game and if it had not been for keeper Tom Kaye, who had a fine game, Wood may well have been behind as he made three excellent saves before wood took the lead after 28 minutes rather against the run of play. Dan Wright scored from 20 yards.
Tuffley thoroughly deserved their leveller with Liam Smith smashing home a free kick over the wall.
Wood were better in the second half and grew into the game and it was no surprise when they took the lead after 73 minutes. The impressive Travis Cooke ran on to a Elliot King through ball and finished low into the corner.
Tuffley still had chances but Wood killed it off with just two minutes to go. Martin Smith, returning from injury finished excellent work from Fin Byrnes and Tyler Jaggers.
