After the disappointment of just missing out on a second successive title, Sileby will have the opportunity to make it 3 trophies in 3 years, as they look to defeat Loughborough Dynamo.
Town will be able to call on almost all of their impressive squad, McGlugash the only potential doubt as he tries to overcome a hamstring injury. Steve Hendey was cautiously optimistic ahead of the game.
“They’ve got to come to us now, which plays into our hands, but with these kind of teams, it’s hard to know what sort of side they’ll have out. They’ve just brought in new management so obviously there’s the incentive of playing for a place next year. I imagine they’ll have a few faces that haven’t been involved in the league this year.”
Dynamo narrowly avoided relegation this year but may be in better spirits after a change of personnel, a stark contrast to Town’s form over the last couple of seasons.
“Our home record this year was fantastic. In 16 games we hit 63 goals, that should worry any team coming here. They’re from a higher league and you’d expect them to maybe edge it in terms of fitness, but I know my lads and the spirit they have in these kinds of games. There’s no doubting our ability and Loughborough will underestimate us at their peril. We might seem like a small town club to some of their players, but our record speaks for itself. I’ll be sending a team out to win tomorrow night.”
Importantly, the game’s proceeds will go to charity, so from all at Sileby, please spread the word and let’s have as many there as possible. It should be a good game, between two sides who play good football. The clubhouse will be open from just before 7pm and kick off is at 19:15.
