A big thanks to the supporters who attended the meeting last night at the Skem Cricket Club, for those who were unable to attend due to work/adverse weather, here are the key points from the two-hour meeting.

  • Early in the meeting, chairman Paul Griffiths explained that the club had tried to extend the previous lease quelling false rumours that the club had not attempted to.
  • Also, explaining that discussions had taken place from Jun 2015 up to last October's eviction.
  • The club are in advanced negotiations with the local council in regards to the club returning to play in Skem, hopes of an initial announcement on the details in the coming weeks.
  • The club are aiming to return to playing in Skem in Jan 2019 and have agreed an extension to the current ground-share at Prescot Cables with a break clause agreed with the League for when the news stadium is completed.
  • Attendances for the season so far are down 60% on the previous season.
  • Funding for next season has been committed by current sponsors and others who will commit when the club's return to the town is finalised.
  • A solution from a fan in attendance saw a suggestion for travel to Prescot for fans without transport, more news when available.
  • Admission prices lowered to £8 Adults, £5 Concessions and £1 for U16s, Unemployed and Armed Forces.
  • There are no plans for the club to self-demote to a lower level, the only way the club will be in a different division will be if relegated at the end of the season.
