Trostre FC proceeded into the Semi Finals of the West Wales cup following a very hard fought game versus the free flowing South Gower Side. Trostre took the lead when L Jones reacted first to a long ball into the Gower penalty and calmly curled his shot into the top corner. Gower responded 10 mins later when Jack Jones prodded home from close range following a 20 pass move from one end to the other. J James scored the best goal of the game. Trostre goalkeeper claimed a high ball from a corner and threw the ball out to J James who took on a retreating Gower defence. Showing skill and composure he beat 2 defenders and coolly drove a shot into the far corner. Gower took the game into extra time with J Cadogan responding to a Gower penalty hitting the post and slamming it home. Gower hit the frame 4 times, dominated the extra time until the final kick of the game when Gower tried to play out from the back but tired legs and poor decisions allowed L Jones to pounce on a loose ball and place his shot into the far corner. Unbelievably painful on Gower but if you don't take your chances and lady luck is against you then cup matches can always deliver shock results. Good luck to Trostre who never gave up and played their part in a very entertaining hard fought game.
