Saturday we faced Holbrook Sports down The Lane 2 days after our cup victory Thursday night the lads had a quick turnaround being straight back in action 2 days later. We have the benefit of having a big squad of talented players so with a few changes we were still able to field a strong side to ensure we secured the important 3 points.

We got off to the perfect start earning ourselves a penalty in the first minute with Josh Scully comfortably dispatching in the bottom corner to put us 1-0 up almost immediately. The first half there weren't many chances for either side with the away team having a speculative volley troubling Ross for a second however just over. We also hit the bar with some lovely play down the right however we couldn't find the second goal until right on the stroke of half time with a Ryan Hadley header from the corner putting us 2-0 up at the break.

Second half the weather got involved with some heavy rain throughout the half which dulled the game somewhat however the lads dug in & controlled the game to give us our 22nd win of the season putting us 18 points clear at the top of the table. The teams around us all have to play each other which is a bonus meaning they will more then likely all be taking points off each other making it near on impossible to catch us so long as we win our final 3 games. Linby lost 2-1 to Prims in the last minute putting them 18 points behind us with only 5 games in hand however we do have them to play in our final game. Melbourne won 4-2 meaning they mathematically can still catch us if they win all of their 6 games in hand however a goal difference of +39 in our favour does mean they'd have to really go some to overtake us.

Overall it was yet another good day down The Lane for the club, growing crowds along with a good win & some more cup celebrations everyone's feeling good heading into our final 3 games.
