A reference on a successful season.

Manager Review;

Here at South Shields RFC we have experienced many lows in the past few years, but now we have a few things to cheer about, a league title!

A couple of years ago Shields dropped out of the DN3 due to lack of players and decided to play in a lower league, to only having 6 players at the beginning of the season....

South Shields have went from strength to strength this season, winning 2 out of 3 in pre season against testing opposition. The South Shields Committee and Coaching team had a huge job to do to make sure the club didn't go under.

South Shields went on a huge requirement drive which saw over 40 playing members old and new come to the club. The original 6 players where Manager Steven Kenny, Coaches James Robinson and Jamie Everett, Captain Lewis Wilson, Long servant Jason Smith and County Representative Liam Belshaw and none playing members Chairman Gary Mckay, Vice Chairman Simon Jones and Club President Michael Elsy.

Shields only lost three games all season to narrow margins, we have grown as a team and became stronger week to week. A much needed high for the club.

County Cup 2022/23

In this seasons County Cup say Shields beat Sedgefield 2's to then be knocked out by Houghton RFC in the Quarter Finals, which is still a big accomplishment for the club.

I'd like to thank all Staff, Players and Fans for this season, you have all played for a massive part in our success this season, we couldn't have done it without you, see you all next season for many more highs.
