Shields received the kick from kick off, and where straight on the front foot from the off. Spending the opening exchanges in the opponent's 22, in a sudden change of events Horden turn the ball over and find themselves in the Shields half which saw them score two tries in which one was converted. But then Shields came back with some hard graft between the forwards, which saw veteran Jason Smith so over for a try. Twenty minutes into proceedings Jonny Cooper took a boot to the face to and had to come off the field for precaution Tom Mcmanemy replaced him. Thirty minutes in Declan Crawford came off with a groin injury we await the severity of that, Hybrid player Luc Wilson replaced him and dropped into the centres.

At half time saw Player/manager Steven Kenny come on in the front row for Chris Wann, hooker Phillip Miller came on for James Wharton and second row David Jackson came off for Michael Francois.

In the second half Shields were once again on the front foot. 25 minutes into the second half Michael Francois sustained a concussion in which he will be out of action for three weeks due to the head injury. Shields were rewarded in the form of a try from a great offload to James Camm with some unbelievable graft to go over and score Shields there last try of the game.
