The game ended 3-1 in favour of SC Thamesmead, following a clinical showing at the Masher Brothers Stadium.
The visitors started the match with intensity and purpose, racing into a 3-0 lead by half-time. A combination of sharp attacking play and solid defensive organisation saw SC Thamesmead control the opening 45 minutes, leaving the away team with a mountain to climb.
Sutton Athletic responded after the break and managed to pull one back in the second half, but Sporting Club stood firm to secure a valuable win at home.
The result sees Sporting Club Thamesmead add three vital points to their tally as they continue their push in the league.
Chairman Lee Hill, praised the squad’s first-half display and resilience after the interval, stating: “We were excellent in the first half, created chances and took them well. In the second half, we had to dig in a little more, but credit to the lads, they saw it out professionally.”
The club now looks ahead to their next fixture, hoping to build on this positive result.
