The left-back joins from fellow NWCFL Premier Division side Stockport Town, having made 23 appearances already this season, netting four goals including two in his last two.

Josh represented Squires Gate at U15 level, with his strong performances earning him a move to Blackpool FC. Josh then moved onto Stockport County, where he gained first-team experience after impressing in the academy.

He was then picked up by Fleetwood Town, where he signed a professional contract and even made three appearances for the first-team.

Edwards was a huge signing for Stockport Town at the start of this season, and after a consistently good campaign, this is seen as a massive signing for Squires Gate.

On coming back to Gate, Josh said: “I can’t wait to get started again. I’m really looking forward to this new start and ready to help towards a strong finish to the season.

“I am very pleased to be back, and really enjoyed my time here previously. Being able to put the kit back on is a good feeling.

“I think I will bring a lot of energy to the team and a lot of crosses down the left hand side. My experience is little in the pro game but hopefully it’s enough to help contribute to a good end to the season.

“The goal for me coming in is to give my all. For the team it’s to get some more points on the board, and aiming to have the best possible finish to the season we can.”
