The Cumbria side which included one of the young stars of our midweek team, Xander Vasey, defeated Cleveland by 4 wickets on a glorious day in Kirkoswald.

Batting first Cleveland made good use of yet another belting batting strip and fast outfield prepared by Nev to make 210 for 4 in their 40 overs. Xander bowling 6 overs of leg spin for 28 runs. In reply Cumbria weren't to be daunted by having to score at over 5 an over and reached the target with 3 overs to spare with Xander taking after his Dad and chalking up a nice little red inker ;)

Compliments all round for the wicket, ground and facilities which has hopefully showed there are some excellent grounds around away from the big clubs and will hopefully see more representative cricket at SCC in the future. Huge thanks to Neville Jackson for a superb wicket and to Mark and Lucy Vasey for getting the game to SCC in the first place and for their hard work on the day.
