Margaret Gould was a long-serving volunteer and worker for Staines Town FC, in a wide variety of jobs, along with her husband Graham (the Club’s award-winning Groundsman). She stewarded the bar at the original clubhouse from the mid-1980s, also organising very popular raffles, with her daughters, Julie and Tina assisting in programme selling, and she also continued to assist with the bar right through to 2002.
Other roles included cleaning at the club, and organising and captaining the STFC Ladies Darts Team to numerous successes. However, she will be best remembered as the club’s kit co-ordinator, washing, drying, and bagging all the club’s senior kits for over 20 years, 1995-2017, taking them in and leaving them out via the infamous ‘rabbit hutch’ at her home in Worple Avenue.
Having lost her husband in 2017, Margaret stepped back from club life, and passed away suddenly in May 2024. Margaret’s funeral took place at Hanworth Crematorium on Tuesday 18th June 2024, 11:20am.
More sad news as Aaron Beeks, son of former Swans favourite Steve, sadly passed away in May, at the age of 24.
