The match was their first pre-season game after some warm weather training in Portugal.
The match was 120 minutes and involved two different line ups for both sides.
The visitor opened the scoring after 14 minutes when a cross from the right was met by veteran striker Billy Sharp who rose to head the ball past Will Lakin.
Then Luke Molyneux then had a shot which was blocked by the Daniels back line.
The first shot of note for Stamford came after twenty-eight minutes when new signing Ollie Clark fired a shot over the bar. Then Joe Sbarra put a shot over the bar after Sharp had set him up.
Daniels forward Jack Duffy then blazed an effort over the bar before Stamford captain Rob Morgan dragged a shot wide following some good build up play.
Sbarra then had another opportunity but his effort was straight at Lakin. Then as the first period came to a close, Lee Shaw had an effort which went over the Doncaster keeper but bounced back off the post.
After an hour, both sides fielded completely new line ups.
The first effort of the half went to Rovers Jordan Gibson fired a shot which hit the post.
Then an effort from Ephraim Yeboah was well saved by Tom Jackson in the Stamford goal.
Doncaster doubled their lead on 82 minutes when Kyle Hurst ran through and fired a shot past Jackson. This was followed by a free kick to Stamford that Billy Bennett delivered into the box and the ball was cleared off the line.
Jordan Gibson then scored on 88 minutes when he was found by Joe Ironside and he fired the ball into the bottom corner of the net.
The visitors then scored a fourth after 107 minutes when a cross from the right found Gibson who scored his second of the game.
