Saturday sees the visit of Gresley to the Zeeco Stadium as the two sides face each other for the fourth time this season.

Stamford have had the better of Gresley twice this season with a 1-0 victory in the FA Cup 2nd qualifying round replay, with Sam Hill scoring the winner that night. Then the Daniels ran out 3-2 winners in the league away with John King’s late goal the difference that day with Grant Ryan and Jake Duffy the other scorers. The third game between the sides was a 1-1 draw in the first leg in the FA Cup with Elliot Sandy the scorer that day.

Gresley are a side that feature a few former Daniels. These include Centre Backs Lynas King, Ryan Walker and Alvin Jarvis, midfielder Eddy Samba and striker Keenan King. They come into the game on the back of two wins, both at home to Romulus and Chasetown, 2-1 and 1-0 respectively. Before these games they had been on a run of four losses against Basford (1-0), Shaw Lane (5-3), Northwich (2-0) and Bedworth (1-0). This sees them in 18th, eight points behind the Daniels having played one more game.

Stamford’s form is good coming into the game with three wins, one draw and a loss. These wins have come against Loughborough (1-0), Romulus (4-2) and Northwich (4-0), the draw a 1-1 vs Kidsgrove and the defeat a 5-0 loss against Stocksbridge. This run has seen the Daniels climb to 12th and are just a win away from tenth assuming results are favourable.
