On Saturday Stamford visit Staffordshire to play playoff pushing Leek.
Leek currently lie two points behind Basford who are occupying the last spot in the playoffs. Leek come into the game after a run of tough fixtures against fellow playoff pushers. Out of their last five they have lost four, all to teams above them in the league. Two of these losses have been against Witton (2-1 and 5-2) and the others against Spalding (4-0) and AFC Rushden and Diamonds (2-1) but in their last game they bounced back to winning ways with a 4-1 victory against Carlton.
In this game Tim Grice scored a hat-trick and, alongside Darren Chadwick, has been one of the main scorers for Leek in this run scoring three each. As well as these three, Grice has been in hot form this season being the fourth highest scorer in the league; having scored 18 this season, with only two from the penalty spot.
Stamford, of late, have been in a bit of mixed form following their strong run having won two, lost two and drawn one of their last five. The two losses came last Saturday (1-0) against Gresley and (5-0) against Stocksbridge. As well as these disappointing losses they have picked up all three points against Northwich and Loughborough (4-0 and 1-0 respectively) and one against Kidsgrove (1-1)
Leek lie seven places and 11 points above the Daniels with a six goal better goal difference. They have scored one more than the Daniels on 53 but have conceded 5 less making up the difference between the sides.
