St Austell started against the slope and the wind and immediately pressured the home side with play all around their goal line, but again early penalties allowed Honiton to gain an advantage.
This spurred the Saints to put together some fluent phases of rugby with Sam Rhodes certain to score only for the delivery to be judged as a forward pass.
Centre James Earp was outstanding in creating space and after a stimulating run of play of 11 phases wing Alex Welland outstripped his opposition to bring the score to 6-5.
Full back Sid Venner was instrumental in the next score, receiving a clearance kick, counter attacking and feeding James Earp who with three opponents trying to break his run touched down close to the posts, this converted try taking the score to 12-6.
With the Saints forwards doing better in the scrum, the Saints backs made the most of this cohesion and Welland combined with the back row of Jeffs, Kellow and Thompson to earn his brace of scores.
Honiton got their act together in the second half especially their forwards and after an age Triesof pressure the Saints defence was penalised and the visitors' lead reduced by three points.
The Saints who are now led by skipper Andy Ashwin replied in kind and were awarded a penalty try for the blatant impeding of a certain score for Earp, a bonus point in the bag but the day's work was not over, a sin bin late in the match allowed Honiton to steal a consolation try.
Another away win, a crucial bonus point and fittingly flanker Rob Jeffs awarded man of the match.
A minute's silence was observed by the players at the end of the match as the news had filtered through that St Austell groundsman Mike Morton (Crock) had lost his battle with cancer.
St Austell chairman and first XV manager Phil Raddenbury said: "The club will help to honour any family request and offer our deepest and sincere condolences."
Honiton: Try: Small; pens: Webber (3).
