Having endured many a cold day on the airport myself i can understand the slow start the boys made,
Cold bones take a while to warm.
Avon ran through within minutes to take the first score, this had all the support grumbling..(this is going to be a hammering).
Up step two of the oldest players on the park, (apart from Rich Blacker) in Bob Hacker & Kevin Milkins. To any youngster watching these men were a credit to St. Bernadettes rugby, Kev in the loose, and taking the ball forward and Bob getting the backs moving in all the right places. Unfortunately there were no youngsters watching.
I cant remember the score as i lost count, i know we won by a lot with Bob Scoring two, the first finished with what some were calling a swallow dive??? Luckily the ground is not that level on the 2nd pitch so the divet wont notice.
Another point in the game when the fijian style pass was tried out, something that had the crowd mumbling..Bob as you get older these things are best left to memories.
Other stand out performances today were by a lad going by the name of Jacob ( sorry don't know your last name)Playing in the back row, used brilliantly in the line out, hit every time in the line with someone who can throw the ball in- Tom Hagan..Also James Barr put himself about..moving to the wing to pick up a ball from a sweet cross field kick from the man on song, and score a nice try.
Well done to all who played Enjoyable to watch
