St.Mary's continue good run of form with a home win against Durham Utd U16

Today was St.Mary's 4 th consecutive game in as many weeks and were looking to get 10 points from a possible 12.
The team set up today was different to previous weeks as we set up with a 4 -1-4-1 formation.
Liam Hutchinson was in goal with Harry Craig, Alfie Davison, Ethan Neal and Adam Lennox in defence and Matthew Mensforth sitting in front of the back 4. The midfield consisting of Matty Hope, Aiden Stanton, Dom Agnew and Callum Nichol. Up front leading the line was Jamie Talbot.
Subs today were Christian Wood, Sasha Vakulyk and Jacob Allsopp.
St.Mary's started the better of the 2 teams and seem to have plenty of possesion of the ball, a few half chances come our way but we just couldnt seem to get the ball in the net, the best chance of the opening 8 minutes going to Jamie after he turned in the box and hit a good left foot shot which was saved by the Durham keepers knee to go agonisingly wide. Against the run of play and with their first attack somehow Durham got the first goal when a ball which got put back into the box looped over the keeper and went in. 0-1
It didnt take long before St.Mary's got their first of the game when Adam who caused a threat all game down the left hand side slid a pass which was slightly behind Jamie but Jamie used his strength and enthusiasm to get a great strike on goal to even the scores. 1-1
St.Mary's again being on top of the game won a corner which come into the centre of the box, Aiden was facing away from goal and got himself turned around to put a great shot past the Durham keeper to make it 2-1 St.Mary's at half time.
St.Mary's got their 3rd goal through a corner which was delivered by Dom Agnew and Jamie was in the right place at the right time to head the ball home. 3-1 St.Marys. Soon after and Aiden picked the ball up on the half way line, looked up and lifted a great pass over the top of the Durham defence to find Jamie who ran in on goal and rounded the keeper for his hat trick and to make it 4-1 St.Mary's.
jacob was involved in the next goal when he won a brave challenge on the edge of the Durham 18 yard box which fell nicely for Jamie to get his fouth of the game. 5-1 St.Mary's.
St.Mary's then seem to let their guards down and let Durham back in the game when they scored x2 goals in a 10 minute period. 5-3 to St.Mary's. St.Mary's re grouped and went back to basics and started to dominate the game yet again. Another corner and Dom knocked the ball in again for a mirror image goal with Jamie getting his head on the end of the cross to make it 6-3 to St.Mary's. Jacob then nearly got in on the act when a ball was crossed to the back post but he just could not get his footing right to get a good shot on goal. Dom's vision was good again when he chipped a ball over the top of the defence to find Aiden who had one thing on his mind and scored his second of the game and to make it 7-3 to St.Mary's.
Again a great team performance with some very good individual performances. I thought Matthew Mensforth broke up the play well and allowed Dom and Aiden to create chances. Aidens work rate was very noticable whilst Matty and Callum worked hard going forward and getting back. The back four looked solid all game with Adam getting forward at every opportunity and Jamie was on fire today with x5 well taken goals. The subs done well when they come on and Liam Hutchinson was brave in goal.
