St.Mary's ease past Jarrow Boca Utd with a comfortable 5-1 win and Geat Team Performance

St.Mary's were away to Jarrow on a cold and windy December Saturday morning. The lads looked fresh and ready to go with it being an 11.15am kick off.
We kept the same 4-5-1 formation that has seen the team play some good posession football, and today wasnt any different.
Adam and Jamie were playing for the County, Liam Gibson was poorly and Lucas was still injured but we were still able to field a strong team along with having a few inpact subs.
Liam Hutchinson was in Goal, with Harry, Alfie, Ethan and Sasha making up the back four.
Matthew, Aiden, Dom, Matty and Woody in midfield and Callum up front
Olly and Dungca were our subs for today.
St.Mary's started brightly and were playing some good football and within 5 mins were 1-0 up with some good combination passing from Aiden to Woody who squared it for Callum to tap the ball home.
Woody was involved in the second goal also when he passed to Dom who chipped the ball over the top of the defence to put in Callum who had made a great run to make it 2-0 St.Mary's after 15 mins.
The St.Mary's defence looked strong and Jarrow never looked like scoring but they were given a lifeline after 35 minutes when the referee let a dubious offside decision go and Jarrow got a goal back. 2-1- St.Mary's.
Harry Craig was getting a bit space down the right hand side and had a few good runs and shots but unfortunatly didnt come to anything.
Matthew was breaking up the Jarrow play and giving it to Dom and Aiden who were creating chances for us but it was still 2-1 at Half time.
2nd half and we kept the team the same for the first 10 minutes and the lads started off where we finished the first and always looked the better team. We also had the advantage of the wind which was strong all game. Liam Hutchinson decided to go long and his kick went all the way to the Jarrow 18 yard box which Callum latched onto to score his Hat-Trick to make it 3-1 to St.Mary's after 45 minutes.
Subs were made on 50 minutes and Sasha and Woody made way for Olly and Dungca. Both subs making an great impact within the game. They both looked fresh and worked very hard for the team which is exactly what we need the subs to do. St.Mary's continued to dominate the second half and had quite a few more chances to score but it wasnt until 70 mins when Sasha played in Dom to make it 4-1. Dom was looking confident so he tried his luck from 40 yards out which crashed off the crossbar. 5 minutes later and Dom scored another when the keeper made a mistake and was off his line, Dom cool as you like chipped the keeper from range to make it 5-1 to St.Mary's which is how the game ended.
