St.Mary's were up against Jarrow BOCA for their 2nd game of the League Shield competition.
St.Mary's started slowly with Jarrow being on top of the game for the first 10-15 mins. St.Mary's then found their feet and started to control the game in every part of the pitch although not many chances were created. The deadlock was broken half way through the first half when Aiden scored the first of the game. St.Mary's then seem to move up a gear and created more chances and a great run saw Josh Storey inside the box, he twisted and turned through the Jarrow defence to slot the ball home to make it 2-0 before half time.
Teamwork and competativeness to win the game was evident and the lads worked very hard collectively to stay on top of the game and a great through ball from Aiden found Callum make a great run from the half way line to take the ball in on goal and Callum to finish calmly made it 3-0 to St.Mary's. Jarrow go a consolation goal 10 mins from time when a lofted cross / shot caught out Liam in goal.
All departments of the pitch today were up for it today and Jamie topped the game off with a great performance as stand in captain.
