St.Mary's hosted CLS Lakeside for their last game of the season and the last game of the Premier League Shield.
The game started as expected with both teams having equal shares of the ball and both teams playing some good football. There wernt many chances for either teams as both defences were very strong and organised. After 20 mins it was still 0-0 and the game needed a change so St.Mary's brought Dom Agnew on to see if we could change the game. Dom made an instant impact when he got the ball on the left hand side of the pitch and floated a ball into the box which Aiden Stanton headed past the keeper. 1-0 St.Mary's. This is how the game finished until half time.
The second half again was very good with both teams having equal amount of the ball but St.Mary's looked strong and our keeper didnt have that much to do. We needed a second goal and it didnt take long when Aiden put in Callum to make it 2-0. Minutes later and Aiden was in on goal and the CLS Lakeside keeper wiped Aiden out on the edge of the box and there was nothing the Referee could do but sent off the Lakeside keeper. Dom again put a great free kick into Callum who volleyed home from close range to make it 3-0.
Lakeside got a consolation goal 5 mins from time. 3-1
