Stockport win their third European title with a 9-2 victory over Farsta.

We were delighted with the performance of the team this weekend, and hopefully we can build on this for the upcoming season.

Stockport Lacrosse Club claimed it's third European Club Championship title with a 9-2 victory over Swedish champions Farsta LC at the Blaarmeersen, Sports and Recreation Park in Ghent, Belgium on Sunday.

The Cale Green club cruised through the group stages with a 16-1 victory over Italian champions Bocconi and a 18-0 victory over French champions Valenciennes. In the quarter-finals Stockport dispatched the Dublin Prawn's 11-1 to progress to the semi-finals.

Stockport had to battle from behind to overcome the talented and disciplined Norwegian champions Oslo LC in the semi's. Despite a first half scare Stockport proved too strong, beating the Norwegian's 7-3.

The final was a scrappy and tough encounter against Farsta LC with the Swede's looking to play a physical game. Stockport (for most of the game) remained disciplined and ran away to an early lead.

Farsta LC battled hard but couldn't break Stockport down allowing the reigning champions to coast to a 9-2 victory and bring the Ken Galluccio Cup back to Cale Green for the third time.

Chris Bland was named 2015 European Club Championship MVP leading the tournament in points scoring 12 goals and 1 assist.
