It's been an up and down season for the U14s this year, as they adjusted to the standard and type of challenges district football brings. However all season, the coaches have emphasised the journey we have been on, and how one game can change everything. Having not won in 9 games, it was the right moment for the boys to claim a win, and not only that, return home as Cheshire Champions. A

After winning group games earlier in the season, the team qualified for the final in second place, earning the right to play group toppers, Knowsley. The first half was nothing short of perfect from a Stockport perspective, creating lots of chances, keeping the ball well, and bringing in a 1-0 lead at half time- courtesy of a well taken Jackson-Peat goal.

However, the second half brought an onslaught of Knowsley chances, scoring from a set-piece and a break to put them in a 2-1 lead with 10 minutes to go. Now, based on our last 9 games, this only had a loss written all over it. However, the lads showed great resilience and fight to turn it around. A well worked team goal from Allan and a scorcher from Stott in the last few minutes of the game concluded the game at 3-2.

As coaches, we could not be any prouder of the group, to push through difficult phases, and end the season with a trophy! After celebrating a well-earned win, we are now hoping the lads use it as a platform to what could be a really successful U15s campaign.
