The game started off with both sides playing some good football and creating opportunities to score. Henry was the first to get a goal following a cross into the box followed by a cool finish. The Swords next goal came from a very unfortunate deflection that took it past the Pumas keeper and into the net.
In the second half the Swords started well with Curtis getting a couple of goals. This was probably the best that the team had played, they played as a team and encouraged each other when sometimes things did not go as planned. Rocco started off in goal and then moved into the centre of defence where he went on to make a number of strong tackles and excellent clearances. Sam played in defence for the first part of the game, he too made some strong challenges and stayed goal side throughout. Zane started in defence and again played really well at one point he blasted a shot from inside his own half and was very unlucky to score. In goals Zane showed a lot of courage diving at the feet of the attackers on a number of occasions.
The midfielder's really started to play some good attractive football with lots of passes and good movement down the wings. Hats off to Dylan, Alvaro, Curtis, Jojo and Elliot for all of the link up play they did throughout the game, they were able to create lots of chances that on another day could have led to even more goals. I think Henry is going to need a new pair of legs to replace the ones he wore out today as he was absolutely everywhere, never giving the opposition any time to settle on the ball.
In summary this was a really good team performance that all of the team should be proud of. There will be no training this Saturday or the one after as Pete and Olly are both away so it will give the kids chance to charge their batteries.
