At Netherton Park, Stokeinteignhead Cricket Club
A friendly, fun cricket event was organised on Saturday 4th September, at Dick's cricket club in Lower Netherton, near Combeinteignhead. The event was based around Dick, to remember him and all that he was involved with.
Graham Hooker (Ex-Teign staff member) one of Dick's former work colleagues, arranged the event, starting at 10:30 am - Four teams of 6, a Traditional Cricket Tea would commence at 1pm, big thanks to Lorna and Chris Gray, Graham Hooker's wife Ros, Lizzie, Jan and Rod Crook for help cater for players and spectators. Before the Final match itself there was a Dedication to Dick with the unveiling of the now newly renamed "Dick Parker End", a few words from Stoke CC Chairman Mike Lang, a speech from Alan Bauer (Ex Colleague, Stoke Teammate and Friend of Dick Parker), the Final itself which was won by Teign School Old Boys and then the BBQ at 6pm.
A total £820.50 was raised on the Day. The funds will be going to Dick's chosen charity, The Devon Wildlife Trust.
