Last Saturday night's 110-100 shock loss to the upstart Tampa Bay Bombers (2-2) has the St. Petersburg Swans hearing footsteps in the run home on the 2018 Major League Footy Premiership Season.

Pending the results of tomorrow's Florida Lions - StarfishFC tilt, those footsteps could become very loud, indeed.

A Lions sweep of the matinee twin-bill would propel Florida to a pristine 4-0 mark, passing the always-threatening Miami Saints (3-1) on the ladder in the process.

With a solid chance to move into a virtually untouchable position last weekend - and holding a 2-point lead with less than 90 seconds to play - the St. Petersburg defense collapsed in the clutch after a devastating midfield turnover.

Now, with just three matches left on their schedule, the Swans will need to find positive results the rest of the way - beginning with a rematch vs Miami on Saturday, August 11.

Leading the ladder from wire-to-wire to date in the campaign, the Red & White's race to the finish has suddenly become a high-wire act - with a misstep potentially disastrous.
