Struan Robertson, the Strathie Sharks U16 captain has been selected for the Caledonia Regional Rugby U16 set up following an SRU talent identification programme with the District Tayside Tigers.

The District programme involved training all summer, and District games, which were part of the SRU selection process. Struan was selected for the Tayside Tigers by the District coaches then for the Caledonia set up by the Regional coaches.

Struan, who has played for the strong Strathie Sharks Youth Rugby set up since the age of 7, said " I am really looking forward to the opportunity. I am always proud to represent Strathmore and the Regional Programme has given me another chance to play at a higher level, I have worked hard to get where I am at the moment, through extra training and with the support of my club coaches and team mates. I plan to work as hard as I can until I can achieve my goals".

Strathmore Sharks chairman Kevin Mitchell added "This is a fantastic achievement for Struan. The selection is richly deserved as he has worked extremely hard on and off the pitch. On behalf of the club I'd like to wish him all the best during his time with Caledonia."
