Sundon Park Rangers Code of Conduct
THE COACHES CHARTER
1.The Coach must respect the rights, dignity and worth of every person and treat everyone equally within the context of the sport.
2.The Coach must place the well-being and safety of each player above all other considerations, including the development of performance.
3.The Coach must adhere to all guidelines laid down by governing bodies.
4. The Coach must develop an appropriate working relationship with each player based on mutual trust and respect.
5. The Coach must not exert undue influence to obtain personal benefit or reward.
6. The Coach must encourage and guide players to accept responsibility for their own behaviour and performance.
7. The Coach must ensure that the activities they direct or advocate are appropriate for the age, maturity, experience and ability of players.
8. The Coach should, at the outset, clarify with the players (and, where appropriate, their parents) exactly what is expected of them and also what they are entitled to expect from their coach.
9. The Coach must co-operate fully with other specialists in the best interest of the player. He/she must not use a player known to be unwell or injured without written permission from his parent and/or doctor.
10.The Coach must always promote the positive aspects of the sport (e.g. fair play) and never condone violations of the Laws of the Game, behaviour contrary to the Spirit of the Laws of the Game or relevant rules and regulations, or the use of prohibited substances & techniques.
11. The Coach must consistently display high standards of behaviour and appearance.
12. The Coach must ensure that his overall priority is to make learning fun and that children are progressed to their maximum potential in both individual and team skills.
13. Coaches must not use or tolerate inappropriate language.
14. The Coach must keep a written attendance record of players for training nights and match days. Handover and release of players between Coach and parents/guardians must be recorded in a register at the time of the occurrence.
THE PLAYERS CHARTER
1.The Player must ensure that they have the appropriate equipment for each occasion.
a) Clean & suitable football boots for grass
i) Boots with aluminium blades will not be worn from the start of the 2006-07 season
b) Training shoes for hard surfaces
c) Shin pads and socks (if not provided by the coach)
d) A filled water bottle (if not provided by the coach)
e) Drill tops / training suits / kit bags etc, as issued by the coach
2.The Player should give maximum effort and strive for his best performance during a game or training session.
3.The Player must not use inappropriate language, gamesmanship or time wasting tactics. He must set a positive example for others, particularly younger players & supporters.
4. The Player must abide by the laws, rules and spirit of the game and the competition rules.
5. The Player must accept success and failure, victory and defeat equally. He must treat opponents with due respect at all times, irrespective of the result of the game.
6. The Player must safeguard the physical fitness of opponents, avoid violence and rough play, and help injured opponents where possible.
7. The Player must accept the decision of the Match Officials without protest, avoid words or actions which may mislead a Match Official, and show due respect towards all Match Officials and Team Officials of the opposition.
8. The Player must abide by the instructions of his Coach & Team Officials, provided they do not contradict the spirit of this code.
9. The Player must arrive for training and matches on time or notify the Coach, in advance, of any reason for not doing so.
10.The Player must show respect for the facilities and equipment that they use.
11. The Player must resist any temptation to take banned substances or use banned techniques.
12. The Player should show due respect to the interests of supporters.
THE PARENTS CHARTER
1.The Parent must ensure that the Player has the required equipment and refreshments for each occasion.
2.The Parent must ensure that the Player arrives and is collected by the appointed times for training sessions & matches.
3. The Parent must inform the Coach, as far in advance as possible, if the Player will not be available for a training session or match.
4. The Parent must inform the Coach of any illness or ailment that may affect the performance or health of the Player. The Parent must be aware that the Coach may require a letter of permission from either Parent or the Players doctor to allow the Player to resume Club activity.
5. The Parent should inform the Coach of any games that the Player has been asked to participate in, other than for Sundon Park Rangers Football Club.
6. The Parent may not, under any circumstances, communicate directly with the Leagues or the Bedfordshire Football Association about Club business. Any correspondence about Club or Player business with these or other official football organisations should always be dealt with through the Sundon Park Rangers Football Club Secretary or other Club officials.
7. The Parent must always encourage ALL players during the match regardless of the result of the game

8. The Parent should not give instructions to the players during the match or at the half-time interval. This is the responsibility of the Coach.
9. The Parent must respect the rights of the Coach to make decisions regarding training methods, team selections, substitutions and match tactics unless they contradict the spirit of this code.
10.The Parent must be courteous and polite at all times towards opponents, coaches, managers, referees and officials.
11. The Parent should feel free to approach the Coach to discuss any aspect of the Players football development.
12. The Parent should never use racial abuse or foul language in the hearing of any player.
13.The Parent must refer to players by their shirt number and not by reference to their colour, culture, race or country of origin.
14.The Parent must agree to pay any fine imposed on the Club resulting from indiscipline of their child.
15. The Parent must understand that any monies raised or kit or equipment acquired by sponsorship or fund-raising belongs to Sundon Park Rangers Football Club.
16.The taking of photographs and videos should only be done with permission from the Players Manager/Coach and other parents in attendance.
This Code of Conduct (including coaches, players and parents charter) defines the standards for the relationship between Players, Parents and Coaches associated with Sundon Park Rangers FC this season.
By signing this form, you signify your understanding & agreement of the Code of Conduct and your obligations when representing Sundon Park Rangers Football Club and agree to comply with all associated club policies
