1. 22/02/20 v Buchanhaven Hearts (League) Drew 2-2

Not the result that I was expecting but, given the gale force wind, it was one that has to be accepted.
Once Callum had put us in front, I thought that we would go on and get the win, and another three points in the bag. However we could make nothing of the horrendous conditions, and a draw was the best that we could get. Neither team got to grips with the wind, and with no real football being played, it was almost a relief to hear the ref ‘s whistle blowing for full time.

I was tempted to stay in the nice, warm, windproof clubhouse at half time, but, being the true, loyal Bankies fan that I am, I went back out to brave the weather and support the team. Well, if Buster can do it, so can I !

I don’t mind dropping points to a better team, but it’s a pity that our promotion hopes might well have been scuppered by the wind.

P.S. My man of the match was the wifie who heated up the pies for the half time interval.
They were affa fine.

Cheers

Eddie
