Following on from Wednesday nights 4-4 draw away at Canterbury we travelled to Stansfeld in a game we knew would be tough.
We got off to the worst start when Rob Hughes capitalised on an under hit pass to give the hosts the lead within 2 minutes
The next 20 or so minutes was a scrappy affair with the ball being launched into the air repeatedly by the hosts
Neil Spencer found space down the right and fired a cross into the box which was met by Arlie to level the scores, 1-1 after 30 minutes
Three minutes later and we were ahead. Michael Fenn went on a run and hit a cross to the edge of the box. Conor Evans controlled it and smashed a
Half volley off the outside of his boot past a beaten Stansfeld keeper 1-2
Five minutes before the break Stansfeld were level. A free kick on the edge of the box seemed to go through everyone and into the net.
HT 2-2
The Sutts dominated possession and chances and we were rewarded when a through ball was met by Arlie Desanges who beat 2 defenders to the ball and lifted his shot over the home keeper and into the top corner. 1-3 (66 mins)
That marked Arlie’s 30th goal of the season in all competitions.
The game was wrapped up by Neil Spencer who Broke the box, weaved in and out of a
Number of challenges and fired home.
