After a washout on Wednesday,
Sutton Athletic were back at home and back on form.
Kennington started the game on the front foot, forcing efforts in the early stages.
The Sutts opened the scoring when winger Neil
Spencer got in behind the visitors back line and fizzed a cross at Arlie Desanges for him to finish from close range. 26 minutes gone 1-0.
The first half remained 1-0 thanks to a great save from Joe Hyde.
The second half started in similar fashion with Kennington playing more and more direct bypassing their midfield and going back to front.
On 68 minutes Kennington benefitted from a throw on. The cross was met by the on running Kennington player to level the score
60 seconds later and Liam Spellward scored a great goal to retake the lead. Conor Evans was the creator as he dodged a few challenges to move inside. An un marked Spellward was on the edge of the box. His turn and shot was fired into the bottom corner. 2-1
The Sutts had 2-3 more chances to add to the scoring until stoppage time when Kola Salami’s Marcus Rashford inspired finish made the points safe for the home side
