Two second-half goals saw Sutton safely through the first round of the FA Vase at AFC Wulfrnian. After Sutton took the lead in the opening minutes Wufrunian took advantage of rare uncertainty in the Sutton rearguard to draw level. Half-time 1-1.

Sutton regained the lead which they managed to retain, despite being reduced to ten men for part of the second-half due to a sin bin offence. Back up to full strength, a third Sutton goal in the closing minutes sparked wild celebrations.
