Swans 2 Portland United Reserves 1
Swans extended their unbeaten league record to 14 games with this fourth consecutive Dorset Premier League win defeating Portland United Reserves 2-1 at Day's Park.
Cody Moore and Albie Turner both went close for the hosts in quite an even first 15 minutes. The lively Cody Moore opened the scoring after 25 minutes when he ran through and slipped the ball past the advancing keeper with a cool finish. Moore again shrugged off a couple of challenges to find Ocean Smith who dribbled past a couple of defenders but fired over when well placed. Ocean Smith found Albie Turner in a good position but he was denied by the Blues keeper. Swans were now in the ascendancy and a great passing move between Turner, Moore and Marcus Smith saw the latter's shot saved by the visitors keeper. H.T. 1-0.
Ten minutes into the second half the Blues equalised with a good finish from Sanchez Baker.
Swans regained the lead when Charlie Brassington headed home following a pin- point free kick from Marcus Smith. The hosts nearly increased their lead when Paul Best's shot struck the bar following a good pass by Cody Moore. The visitors fought hard in the last 10 minutes for the leveller and had a great chance in the last minute but missed the target when well placed.
Another win for the well supported Swans in front of a good attendance at Day's Park.
[b]Swans Boss Craig Adams said post match "Fantastic discipline and courage from the lads today. Stayed on task for 95 minutes and thoroughly deserved the win. 300 through the gate and the Swans army as our 12th man. Very proud. We push on!"
