An update on appointments to Danny Forrest's Management Team

We are delighted to confirm further appointments to Danny Forrest's Management Team for the 2024/2025 season.

As announced a short while ago, Danny Forrest is taking sole charge of the Dennyboys for the 2024/2025 season, and will again be supported by Assistant Manager / Player, Matty Dempsey, Goalkeeping Coach Ben Higginson and Physio Alan Jackson.

Forrest has further strengthened his management team with the appointment of two Coaches with both Tom Higman and Andy Atkinson joining Thackley AFC for the 2024/2025 campaign.

Forrest had the following to say:

“I’m delighted that Tom [Higman] has joined our Management team. I’ve been knocking on his door for some time now and I’m glad he’s finally in a position to commit. He's dedicated, knowledgeable, hard working and has a big heart. He’ll certainly be a popular appointment with everyone connected to Thackley AFC especially those who remember his playing days at the club.

We’ve also added Andy Atkinson who has brought a great presence and energy since being around the club. Again he has very good knowledge of the area in a football sense, plenty of experience from playing at a high level locally and being involved in managing teams around Bradford. The lads have taken to him extremely well and I’m sure he’ll prove to be an asset to the club.

I believe having good people around the place is hugely important and after a couple of staff members moved on recently I was keen to bring some like minded fresh faces in to the setup.

Matty’s [Dempsey] first season as an Assistant Manager was a revelation and I’m extremely happy he’ll be at my side once again. We’re hopeful and confident we’ll get him on the pitch more this season where he can have even more of an effect as well as continue with all the great work he’s done around the players and the support he’s provided when shaping the team.

Likewise you only have to look at Luke Wilson’s progress to understand how important Ben [Higginson] has been this past year. Not only that but his dedication and heart for the players has been highly valued. Alan Jackson will also continue as physio and build on the fantastic work he did last season”

Pre-season gets underway just next week as we entertain Barnoldswick Town on Tuesday 2 July 2024 at Dennyfield with a 7.45pm KO!
