Showing signs of rust in there 7's game the opener against Colchester was a scrappy affair, as the Gents went down to a last play try, against the run of the game. The second game was the the Gents in all their glory! Rusty parts now loosened off the Gents went into their traditional open play style, as they quickly put group favourites St Joseph's School Ipswich to the sword, with a number of well worked tries. The final group game was against Northumbria, and the Gents had to win by a good margin as the other results had gone against them. true to form the Gents Blasted out of the starting blocks and won the game with some scintillating rugby to win 55-5. The result meant that the Gents topped the group by points difference of a margin of just one point!
The Semi final was played against the home Club Bury with with fellow Gent Matt Edison as the home team captain. the game was one of the best played all afternoon, and Bury were the eventual winners 24-22 with yet another final play try. If the Gents were to be knocked out it was fitting the it was the Bury team , who went on the win the open competition.
Many thanks to all the Gent who were on duty and the effort put in on a very hot day for playing Rugby
