Thetford hosted Swaffham at two mile bottom on Saturday. Thetford again suffered from late call offs and unavailability. The Vice Presidents who attended the lunch must have feared the worst as from the kick Thetford were under pressure and conceded two quick tries giving Swaffham a 14 - 0 lead after barely 10 mins.
With some stern words from thier skipper for the day Luke Friend, Thetford rallied scoring two tries of thier own giving the scoreline some respectability at halftime of 10 - 14.
Despite strong runs from the likes of Jay Leicester and Josh Clark in the Thetford backs and driving hard yards of the Thetford forwards in particular prop debutant Rocky along with Liam Friend. Thetford struggled to break free of a Swaffham side who were able to rotate tired players out and put fresh legs on the pitch. This alongside a strong lineout and scrum led to five second half tries.
A well deserved win for Swaffham. Despite the final score of 43 -10, the Thetford players can look themselves in the mirror as they certainly gave Swaffham a game.
Thetford's Man of Match was Matthew King.
