After a week off with the snow, we're back to it!

This South Yorkshire derby is always a game for the packs, with both sides boasting what are considered to be the two biggest set of forwards in the league.

The "beast from the east" put stop to most of the rugby in the North of England outside of the professional games, effecting National 1 all the way down to our 2nds taking on Dinnington 2nds. However, with the rain and (slightly) warmer weather, this weekend looks set to be game on as the 1st XV travel down the M18 to Wath. This South Yorkshire derby is always a game for the packs, with both sides boasting what are considered to be the two biggest set of forwards in the league.

Earlier in the season, Thorne picked up a victory at Coulman Road in a high scoring game which finished 50-36 to the home side, with 7 tries (A.Smith x 2, A.Holt, T.Holt, Z.Holgate, L.Marsden, R.Raper) ran in for the 'Ensians that day, with Wath's prolific winger, Sam Holt, also getting on the score sheet, who is currently on 15 tries for the season in all competitions for Wath. Our Hosts are fresh from their Senior Vase Regional win over Winnington Park, which sees them one step closer to HQ!

The 2nd XV are set to play at home against Halifax 2nd XV. Kick-off 3pm with France v England on in the bar after the game! We look forward to welcoming the 'Dukes' to the club, as it will have been many a year since Halifax RUFC visited Thorne!
